Q.

What led you to join NXN Labs as an intern?

Hyunjun Jang :

I first came across NXN Labs while reading economic news and tech trend articles. It immediately caught my attention because the company was building the kind of “future technologies” I used to imagine when I was younger.

Afterward, I looked up NXN Labs and the CEO on LinkedIn, and I felt certain that working with a team like this would help me grow both professionally and personally. That confidence led me to apply for the internship, and I’m grateful that I was given the opportunity to join.

Jun Lee :

Jaiwon, the Founder & CEO of NXN Labs, visited Stanford and gave a talk about the company.I was really impressed by her perspective on technology and business, as well as her leadership style. When She spoke about the team and the company’s vision, her eyes genuinely lit up — and that moment stayed with me.

I remember thinking, “I want to work with someone like this and be part of a team like this.”So I decided on the spot to apply for the internship.

Wing :

I joined NXN Labs because the culture felt genuinely warm and supportive. As a student, I wanted hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment rather than a structured corporate role, and NXN Labs seemed like the perfect place for that.

It felt like an environment where I could try new things, learn through real work, and grow alongside talented people — so I decided to join.

Hanmin Lee :

Like Jun, I was deeply inspired after meeting Jaiwon at Stanford. Compared to other companies, NXN Labs stood out because even interns are given real responsibility and the chance to lead projects.

Joining a fast-growing early-stage team and contributing to real impact felt incredibly meaningful for my career, so I didn’t hesitate to apply.

Hyeonjun Choi :

I’ve always dreamed of founding my own company someday, so before beginning my military service, I wanted to experience working at a startup firsthand.

Since I’m particularly interested in fast-moving technology sectors, I naturally gravitated toward tech startups — and NXN Labs, working at the forefront of AI, caught my attention immediately.

The team’s vision and culture resonated with me, and I felt strongly that if I were to begin my first real-world experience anywhere, it should be here.

Q.

What was your experience like at NXN Labs after joining the team?

Wing :

Before my first day, I was pretty nervous — mostly because I’m a foreigner. But from the moment I arrived, everyone welcomed me so warmly that I felt comfortable almost immediately.

I was also surprised by how structured and organized everything was. Even though NXN Labs moves at the fast pace of a startup, there are clear standards for how the team works, and that left a strong impression on me.

Hyeonhun Choi :

What stood out to me the most was the people. Everyone on the team is highly professional, yet they create an environment where we challenge each other in a healthy and motivating way.

Another thing I appreciated is that no one ever criticizes you for not knowing something. As someone experiencing my first job, there were naturally many unfamiliar terms and situations, but at NXN, people always explain the context kindly and help you learn without hesitation.

Lastly, I was really impressed that interns are trusted with real responsibilities. Friends often assume interns only do printing or coffee runs, but when I tell them the kind of work I actually did here, they’re always shocked. NXN Labs gives opportunities based on ability and potential, not titles — and that’s one of the biggest strengths of this team.

Hanmin Lee :

What surprised me most during my first week was how people from not only my team but also other teams reached out to check on me.Thanks to that, I was able to adapt quickly and felt like part of the team right away.

I also had the chance to lead a project myself, which let me gain a wide range of hands-on experiences.Working and learning alongside my teammates was genuinely enjoyable, and the team outings and retreats throughout the internship became some of my favorite memories.

Hyunjun Jang  :

I was struck by how clearly each team member’s role and expertise stood out.Watching big projects move quickly and precisely — like perfectly interlocked gears — made a deep impression on me.

Everyone generously offered guidance both inside and outside of work, and at some point, I realized I had naturally become one of those “gears,” moving together with the team. That sense of belonging motivated me even more and made me want to keep growing here.

I was fortunate to receive a conversion offer, and I’m now continuing my journey at NXN Labs as a full-time team member.

Jun Lee :

What I appreciated most after joining was how many opportunities I had to work proactively. From preparing documentation for the U.S. FLIP process to assisting with VC IR materials, I was entrusted with meaningful tasks that helped me learn how to think and operate in real-world contexts.

The feedback process was also memorable. Instead of simply pointing out what needed to be improved, the team helped me understand why certain directions might be better and how to expand my thinking — which broadened my perspective significantly. Outside of work, we bonded through movie nights, a horror escape room, and a team retreat. This internship gave me everything I hoped for: growth, experience, and joy.

Q.

What was the most memorable experience during your internship?

Hyeonjun Choi :

The most memorable part of my internship was the way feedback was given. Working closely with Jaiwon, our CEO, and Moonhong, our Ops Lead, I was impressed by how they had a clear direction yet never resorted to micromanagement.

Rather than giving direct instructions, they guided me to develop my own line of thinking.Because of that, some tasks took a bit longer, but I was able to fully immerse myself in the problem and create something that felt truly my own.

At the end of each day, I often felt a real sense of accomplishment — thinking, “That was fun. I actually learned something today.”

Wing :

The most memorable moment for me was watching my PM project turn into a real, working feature. On my very first day, the concept was nothing more than a simple sketch I drew together with my team leader — abstract and hard to visualize.

But as weeks went by, engineers, designers, the business team, and I all contributed piece by piece.By my final day, it had become an actual functioning feature.

Seeing an idea that once existed only in my head evolve into a tangible product was incredibly rewarding, and knowing it was something our whole team built together made it even more meaningful.

Hyunjun Jang :

The most memorable experience for me was working directly with large-scale datasets and improving model performance. It wasn’t just about finding the right answers — it was about learning how to interpret real-world data, understanding its characteristics and limitations, and figuring out how to approach it effectively.

I experimented with different methods, and watching the model’s performance change right before my eyes was genuinely exciting. It made me realize how much I was growing. Since it was a hands-on experience I could never get in school, it remains one of the most impactful moments of my internship.

Q.

What are your plans after the internship?

Jun Lee :

I plan to attend law school and study the law in depth, then gain practical experience by working as a lawyer. After that, I ultimately want to start my own company.

My time at NXN Labs made me realize how much a strong team can accelerate growth, and it inspired me to someday build a team like that myself.

Hanmin Lee :

I want to continue exploring what brings meaning to both my work and my life.During this internship, I met many people who inspired me, and I want to keep meeting people who challenge my thinking and push me to grow.

Whatever path I choose, I hope to follow three core values: curiosity, growth, and meaningful connections with others.

Hyunjun Jang :

This internship gave me the chance to take a deeper look at my abilities and limitations. While participating in the engineering team’s development of high-resolution output models, I realized how much more I want to study and expand my technical skill set.

My goal is to build expertise in training methodologies and system optimization — not just improving models, but also contributing to workflows that support the team as a whole.I plan to continue learning consistently, with the hope of transitioning into a full-time role beyond the internship.

Wing :

I want to continue developing my computer science skills so I can create something meaningful and exciting. This internship showed me how rewarding it is to see an idea turn into a real product, so I hope to keep pursuing opportunities where I can build impactful things.

Hyeonjun Choi :

I’ll be starting my military service soon.
I want to carry the lessons and inspiration I gained from this internship with me, do my best during my service, and come back ready for new challenges ahead. Salute!

Q.

Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say before we wrap up?

Hanmin Lee :

My experience at NXN Labs was meaningful not only in terms of work, but also because of the people I learned from along the way.Thank you for giving me such a fulfilling and enriching internship.

Hyunjun Jang :

I was grateful to work with great teammates and to solve real problems together.

To future NXN interns: even if things feel unfamiliar or challenging at first, you’ll see a stronger, more confident version of yourself by the end of the internship.

Jun Lee :

To future applicants — definitely come! You won’t regret it.Best internship ever 🙂

Hyeonjun Choi :

The speed, focus, and level of dedication I saw at NXN Labs were incredibly inspiring. If I ever build a team of my own one day, I hope it will be like this one.

Wing :

I want to thank NXN Labs for giving me the chance to practice Korean every day — I feel like I improved so much in such a short time.
Thank you for making this summer one of the most memorable ones I’ve ever had!
